0 A SMILEY FACE HIDDEN AMONG 36,445 SCREWS - An INSTALLATION By studio yumakano

This installation project by studio yumakano entails an assortment of screws, 36,445 to be precise, in varying depths, to create a tactile texture. The nails portray a pattern which represents the city, Hamamatsu, famous for its industrial hub with the manufacturing giant, Suzuki, known for its cars, motorcycles and other instruments, calling it home.

The amount of screws embedded, 36,445, is the same number of officially registered businesses located in the metropolis.
